The two hemispheres show the skies as of January 1st and July 1st, respectively—beautiful wooden jigsaw puzzle from Elizabeth Shurtleff, ca. 1930. Our wooden vintage pictorial celestial map depicts instructions under the title explaining how to hold the map to identify the constellations in the night sky. A key displays symbols representing the sizes of the stars depicted. Inset illustrations of Phoebus Apollo, the Sun God, and Diana, the Moon Goddess, are set between the two hemispheres.
