Braun BC02BL Travel Alarm Clock – Small & Silent
Slower Thoughts
Color: Blue
Product Details
There’s something really appealing about these little Braun alarm clocks that doesn’t make sense on the surface. They’re cheap and simple, but they’re also well-constructed and wonderfully designed. It’s the cheapest ticket to iconic design from Dietrich Lubs. Back in the 80s, when these clocks were first designed, I had one—it felt like something special. This was, of course, before our phones became our alarms and when you didn’t really trust the mysterious hotel clock. And even now, it still has its place. They’re small, still useful, and definitely worth packing in your bag. Plus, they’re a great piece of German design.
With its easy-to-read dial and iconic yellow second hand—something Braun’s been known for for years—this clock is timeless. Based on the AB 1 from the late 80s, it’s been updated with improved movement and luminous-tipped hands that make it easy to read, day or night. The clean design and quiet ticking are all part of what makes this piece a classic Braun.
